Unique and by far the only one of its kind in South East Asia, the Diploma in Journalism programme is for anybody keen in pursuing a career in journalism, public relations, copy writing, scriptwriting, broadcasting and TV production.
Initiated so as to leverage on the growing number of media and news organizations basing their operations in Singapore, the course aims to develop skills requisite for sniffing news worthy stories. This is to help students get their works published even during their course and ensure their eventual employability in domestic and international media outlets upon graduating.
Comprehensive and detailed, the very practical focussed full time and part-time courses, fine tunes and hones one’s sense of verbal and oral communications and power of analysis, such that one is deemed academically competent to complete thesis projects for eventual authentication with the said foreign universities.

Assessment
The course is assessed and its diploma awarded only after students have satisfied the requirements some key requirements. These include getting at least two published works, as well as passing the thesis on journalism principles for the foreign university.
Additionally, there is a in-house examination which students must not exempt themselves from.
Entry Requirements to Diploma in Journalism
Anybody with 4 GCE ‘O’ levels and an A2 grade for English is eligible for the course. Those with full certificates but lacking an A2 grade and above would need to pass a placement and oral test.
Certification
Students who successfully satisfy all requirements will be awarded the prestigious diploma that has been approved by Singapore’s Ministry of Education.

Course Schedule for Diploma in Journalism
The Diploma in Journalism course programme takes a total of 380 hours in coursework, excluding the field trips that students need to make and time spent investigating and reporting on stories.
