• Network Design: using architectural principles and definitions to design a new network or evaluate an existing one;
• User factors: design and definition of users and groups, the definition of directory structures on the file server, file and directory attributes, trusty rights and setting up security, definition of the user environment;
• Hardware and software factors: printing set-up, understanding of printing options, installation and configuration of applications on the network, file server installation and utilities.

• For resource management, topics include control resource usage estimation and tracing of resource usage, managing printer queues, connecting of the network to the outside world, advantages and disadvantages, firewall.

The aim of this short course is to provide students with basic skills and knowledge of the Flash software.

Course Sypnosis

This short course aims to focus on the animation and storytelling aspect of Flash, from animating objects to manipulating animation. This will cover functions needed to construct a web in Flash, from hyperlinks to interactive media. Students will be provided with the skills required to start an animation project (such as drawing, tweening and using the timeline). Students will be guided to build a web project, utilising ActionScript 3.0.
